    Hello,
I was wondering if sequoias could be air-layered or grown from cuttings? If so or not...please enlighten.
    Thanks. Mike

Actually fall planting of the seed as soon as it is mature and comes out of the cone easily is the easiest method of propagation. Seed to be planted at other times should be dried thoroughly, and stratified for sixty days at 40 degrees F. Seed beds should be kept shaded. Cuttings taken from shoots that appear on the burls are sometimes rooted. - Millet (1,356-)

Sequoia in the botanical sense is the coast redwood. The Sierra redwood is Sequoiadendron giganteum. If you have not done so already try searching the internet for "sequoiadendron layering" or "propagation" to see what comes up.
