This plant was photographed above Gipsy Cove, Stanley, East Falkland, South Atlantic Ocean, December.
I thought it was Balsam bog (Bolax gummifera) but when I looked at the close up of the picture posted on UBC site in 2005 http://www.botanicalgarden.ubc.ca/potd/2005/11/bolax_gummifera.php I wander if I am not mistaken. May be it is Emerald Bog (Colobanthus subulatus)?
I apologise for my ignorance and will appreciate help.

I realize this posting is very old but I just came upon it... the photo does show Bolax gummifera (not Colobanthus subulatus). Bolax gummifera and Azorella trifurcata are frequently confused, especially in horticulture, but this is the former.
