I dont have any knowledge of trees or gardening. I had a very high cedar hedge - 18feet high approximately and it was in the middle of power lines. It was reduced in height by 4 feet. Will it regain its height - how long would that take ?

I also want to plant a different type of hedge for privacy in another section of the property. Something that would grow to 12 - 14 feet high in not too long a time. Does anyone have any suggestions for what type of hedge to plant.

    Thank you for any responses

If you climbed up and looked you might find it was now all bald (bare) on top, and may mostly stay that way indefinitely - most conifers do not re-sprout readily from bare branches inside the outer shell of foliage.

Pacific wax myrtle might be good for the new hedge.
