My neighbor told me that her lawn care specialist said to remove this vine because it's poison sumac. My son the boy scout proved that wrong in heartbeat. So, I've been searching for 5 leaf cluster red vines and I don't find anything about red vines, ok, I did but it was all candy :) My neighbor still believes it's poisonous, though my son and I have touched it many times to move the vines and have them grow in new directions. Before we go hog wild pulling these I'd just like to be sure I have to kill them.

    Thanks!

Virginia creeper (Parthenocissus quinquefolia)? The berries are mildly toxic, yes, but it's a lovely vine native to your area and it puts on a stunning fall show. I've never heard of anybody having an allergic/contact-dermatitis reaction to it.

THANK YOU! I saw the Virginia Creeper but the pictures didn't have a 'red' vine.
