    Thanks so much. It sure does look like Amelanchier laevis. It sure is a pretty tree. It's so cool that the leaves emerge with such striking colour when the tree is blooming. My parents just bought a house with this tree, so they will be pleased to know what it is. Amelanchiers are such great trees...so many seasons of interest and food for people and birds!

    Amelanchier, but not native to BC, as all natives have rounded-top leaves. You should check few other species that might fit your plant. Amelanchier arborea, for example.
