i have several of these that i just planted this summer. i have read conflicting reports about whether to remove them from the ground or not for the winter. I live in Windsor Ontario, and need to know what to do with them. Do i leave them in the ground, or if i must remove them, when and how.
    Thank you for your assistance

I would dig them up and wrap them in newspaper and store them for the winter in a box .. i dont think they will make it through the winter .. i did that with mine and i live in NE Oregon and we just had a freeze not to long ago and the leaves went down along with my Dahlias and my Peruvian Daffodill .. tey all withered with the frost so i got them dug up and put away for winter ..

If they freeze they will die.
You will have to dig them up and store them in a very damp and cold, but not frozen place until spring. Replant when ground is warm in spring.
The only people who can leave cannas outside all year are in warmer areas.
