best method of storing bulbs/rhizomes for the winter

    hi everyone, was just wandering, ive got over 200 canna rhizomes and elephant ear bulbs... what is the best method for storing in the basement, without having them dry out???

    I wash these in insecticide & fungicide solution, let them dry & then store them in airy sand, but in shade. Of course the winters are not severe here in south-western India.

    I place all of my dug up tubers (cannas,taro, dahlias,gladiolas, tuberous begonias) in plastic bags with peat moss and place them in my basement and forget about them untill early may. never lost a plant since.
