I found this plant growing in late August in a cleared area behind my cottage in Northeastern Ontario. It was located at the edge of the forest (Canadian Shield mixed pine, maple, birch, oak)

I have been here for 15 years, but I have never noticed this particular plant before.

Any suggestions as to what it is? Thanks....Dave
