this is from a prayer plant, new shoots keep coming up but the leave keep going yellow and drying up, so I repot it. During repotting, I found the little balls at the end of the roots. The roots are not very strong, very fine and soil are very sandy. Is this root-knot nematodes? if so is there anything I can do about it?
More likely that your plant needs higher humidity and more moisture in its soil. Be sure that it is kept warm and out of cold drafts.
It may be Meloidogyne incognita — Southern root-knot nematode. Have a look at http://en.allexperts.com/q/House-Plants-721/2009/4/Prayer-Plant-Roots.htm
