Identification: shrub and plants in V.I. ditch?

    Nanaimo, B.C., Canada
    3 different pictures here all from within 100 feet of each other along a ditch. The opposite side of the logging road had willows, currants and salmonberries.

    The 1st picture really fascinates me. I have never seen this shrub before.
    The 2nd picture I wonder what both of the plants in focus here are.
    The 3rd picture with the white flowers had bees all over them.

    That would be L. groenlandicum, if we don't call it a Rhododendron.
