In The Garden: 2 plants to ID

    2 plants that are not known to me.

    Unknown plant 1 looks a lot like oleander but has woody stems, seller called it a laurel.

    Location. Mexican highlands

    It really looks like oleander.

    Twigs don't look right for Oleander, maybe a Plumeria?

    I'm betting your plant #2 is Ruellia brittoniana or R. tweediana... Common name in my area is Mexican petunia. The leaf scars in your pic show it is a lot more rain deprived than anything I'd be able to grow, but the leaves convince me. It will have reseeded all around that area.

    The plumeria one is also looking like plumeria in my area does, except with the same water deprivation. Much smaller leaves, closer together, but the buds look like plumeria.
