This palm tree is located in Dothan, Alabama. I walked by one day and decided to grab a few seeds. I planted and they quickly germinated. My only problem is I have no idea what kind of palm it is. The fronds are fan shaped. I have attatched some photos.
I'd have to say it is a Sabal palmetto. Classic "boots" on the trunk. Seed is small, dark, round, and germinates rather quickly.
