Can anyone confirm what specie is on the attached picture?

Both leafs are from the same tree; the green one in directly from the tree, the brown one is from ground.
Collected in the first half of October in Central Europe.

    Re: An oak?

    Northern Red Oak Quercus rubra.

Just like Q. robur being invasive in the Pacific Northwest, this American species is invasive in central Europe.

    Re: An oak?

Last fall, I visited the Cottam Grove collection of oaks and their hybrids at the Red Butte Garden, Utah. I made almost complete documentary of this live collection which might be useful in case of oak requests. Q. robur was presented, too:

I was also thinking about Q. rubra. But what bothered me was the color of leafs (they are not red unless I'm color blind). Thank you very much for conformation.

BTW, example is not from a forest but from center of a town, so the idea of non-european specie is completely legit.
