Calendula seedling, or weed?

What do you think, gardeners? Are we looking at a calendula seedling, or a weed?

Last year I grew a stunningly beautiful calendula (Bronze Beauty), so I'm hoping that's self-seeded.. but I'd really just like to know. What do you think this is?

Isn't it a bit early for calendula to be up? Honestly, I wouldn't recognize calendula at that stage, but that looks suspiciously like the gazillion forget-me-knot seedlings I've currently got popping up everywhere.

That's not Calendula, sorry to say. It's early for them yet - they want warmer soil before they'll come up.

Good point - they do look an awful lot like forget-me-nots. Thanks, wf1992.

Thank you, lorax. I've never cared about calendula before, so I've never noticed when they come up.
