Wildflowers: What is this plant?

    I live in a very dry area of West TX. A strange plant appeared in the dry sandy soil and I am hoping someone can tell me what it is.

    There are 30 species known to occur in Texas so it may be tough to ID.
    My uneducated guess is A. oenotheroides.
