Anyone know anything about this tree? I've never heard of or seen it before. Was at a local nursery who sometimes get in some weird stuff. Tree was about 6'. I thought it was very cool. As if the leaves weren't cool enough, the underside of them is purple. Pretty neat.

I think 'Patchwork' preceded 'Esk Sunset' on the market and it's not seen much anymore as the latter is superior, or more colorful anyway. There are more than a few variegated sycamores with the purple undersides, thrown by ssp purpureum I imagine. I haven't heard of this one since the naughties, IIRC.
