A fall-flowering forsythia?

    We found this in a vacant lot by a school here in Southern Ontario. The leaves are red and the flowers look just like a forsythia. They certainly last a long time in water and would be terrific in bouquets.

    Many early-flowering shrubs may open some buds ahead of schedule. They flower early in the first place because their flower buds are comparatively quick to open.
