I have a number of dwarf (M9 and P22) apple trees in containers. I have been inspired by the espalier trees in containers at UBC botanical garden, and would like to begin training mine. Some of them are two or three years old. Is it too late to work on them--both in terms of this season, and age-wise?

I think your trees are not too old to be trained. You could begin the shaping next april now.

Thank you, Andre. I thought I had nothing to lose, so I started training them this past summer.
