I was given a few houseplants, and I don't know what they are. I've been searching online, and I think one may be a calathea and another may be a schefflera, but I'm not sure. Does anyone have any more ideas? I haven't had plants before, and I want to make sure I know how to take good care of them.

This is the flowering plant. I wonder if it is an azalea. flowering plant.jpg

The leaves on this plant are very large, and it has a thick stem. plant 2.jpg

A leaf and stem(s) of the plant I think may be a calathea. possible calathea stem.jpg

A leaf/leaves of the plant I think may be a schefflera. possible schefflera.jpg

Think that you are correct in your surmises.
2 looks like a Ficus lyrata, fiddle-leaf fig.

Thanks! It's looking like some of these plants (trees) may actually end up quite large. Do you think they would be okay outside? It gets to about 95 F in the summer around here, and we get quite a bit of snow in the winter, though it doesn't get all that cold.

I'm a bit worried about the schefflera plant now, though, as I have an indoor cat. So far I've read that this plant is poisonous if eaten, and my cat has been interested in this bunch of plants. I hope none of the others are dangerous, too. I wonder if I should put it outside, as well, but it is the smallest of the bunch.

Probably best to find them new homes as they'll fry in Summer
and freeze to death in Winter.
