This was found in and around a house. The person thought it was a bug but it is part of a plant. Can someone please ID these?

Might need a bit more to go on than that. Can you put something in for scale, at least? Any chance of a walkaround in the neighbourhood to spot the source plant?

This small piece is the size of a tip of a pencil and the other larger piece a toonie. This was in a clients house and she thought they were insects that were invading. All I want to know if anyone has a rough idea what these are. These samples are from Penticton.

The large one looks like the wing of a pine seed. The seed itself was already separated, leaving the hole in the wing.

The pine seedwing looks like Pinus coulteri, likely fallen from a cone kept as an ornament.

The small seed is Western Redcedar Thuja plicata.
