I'm sure the folks at Trillium-L have a seed exchange every once in a while, but I don't belong to their listserv so can't say for sure. Might be worth browsing through the archives there and seeing if an exchange does occur, and if so -- join and participate!

The Scottish Rock Garden Society have a large range of seeds on their seed exchange and are very helpful.

Might be worth them purchasing the plant dormant, if possible, unless they are
    keen on starting them themselves.

The trilliums are also available, as plants, at Fraser's Thimble Farms (see website). Rundle Wood (see website) in Calgary often sells various trilliums also. NARGS is also an excellent source for seeds, if that's what you are looking for.
