I purchased this very cheeply in the "almost dead" plant section in a home store, it came with no care instructions or name, I managed to clear away all dead areas and watered, re pot and plant fed it untill it came back to life but still have no idea what it is or its history. largest leaf roughly 4 inches in diameter, furry leafs and stems dark green on top and a mauvy kind of purple on the underside no flowers (that i know of,ive owned it for less than a year) quite shiny looking also. another factoid if you watch Glee then emma pillsbury is spritzing one of these in one of the episodes in the first series (she seems to own alot plants) could anyone please help as ive searched the internet as much as possible with no clues thankyou ok i did more internet digging and i think it may be an African violet.
Rogue, you mentioned someone spritzing the African violets leaves - DON"T - they'll rot! A general rule of thumb I use is - If the leaves are fuzzy check it out before spritzing. barb
