Hi I need some help finding out the name of a flowering tree/bush.

    Hi. The flowers on the plant are maroon and oriental looking flowers. The tree has a sweet smell like pineapples. I am located in New England and have not seen any of these plants any where else.

    Calycanthus? Probably too early for that. Maybe Magnolia liliiflora or one of its hybrids, although it usually smells of grapes or fermentation to me.

    I suppose another nose could register pineapple.
