Flower ID appreciated, and a question

    My previous post on this topic didn't seem to make it. Here is the flower again, and also a question.

    Has anyone here used an iPhone app to identify flowers? For my purposes, this would be a terrific asset.

    My first thought was zinnia, too, but it didn't look quite like any zinnia I'd seen before. Helenium seems a better match. Thanks!

    Definitely looks like Helenium. Helenium Rotkäppchen?
    Try to contact http://www.helenium.net/ , may be they will narrow it down for you to the species or cultivar.
    By the way, it never hurts to post a picture of the whole plant and/or leaves, along with flowers.
