Identification: Orchid identification

Discussion in 'Indoor and Greenhouse Plants' started by Unregistered, Jul 16, 2004.

  1. Hi! I got an orchid that been abandoned by my dad, which I thought was some sort of bamboo... my dad brought home a cutting from someone's house ages ago, and it closely resembles a small bamboo plant, and has 4in leaves, that are about 2/3in wide. I've looked up some websites for something remotely resembling it, but I haven't found anything yet... so I asked my dad if it was actually an orchid and he said it was.... Any help would be greatly appreciated :-)

Without a photo it is impossible to be able to i.d anything but,
if it "looks like a bamboo" and appears to enjoy cool growing conditions check on some of the more temperate species in the Dendrobium family, start with D.Infundibulum.Just a wild guess.
