Tree, simple leaves, elongated flower buds in sparce racemes

    I feel that I should know this, but nothing I look up is right. I thought it was some Styracaceae, but those are supposed to have alternate leaves, and these look opposite.

    Thanks, Silver surfer. I thought of that, but I dismissed it because the leaves are so narrow. I remembered S. obassia leaves being almost round. And then I thought I was seeing opposite leaves. I'm sure that's the look I thought I recognized.
