    Not with alternate buds it isn't!

    Keys out here to Nyssa sylvatica, if I've read the key right. Not 100% sure on that though, Liquidambar styraciflua may also fit.

    That's true. Twigs and bark would fit sweetgum. Should be telltale fallen leaves nearby.

    It looks like Tilia americana to me.

    Wrong branch pattern and corky ridges can be seen on twigs.

    They're a bit past their 'best before' date. But not Sweetgum, for sure.
