Please help identify this plant with a white spike of flowers

    I found this plant in a ditch. I has long grass blade like leaves and a spike of white flowers. There was also a pale purple version of this plant.

    Thank you David in LA. I believe it is Stenanthium densum. We have so many beautiful wildflowers here.
