Beauty berry and winter berry

    I would like to know if these two are in the same family of plants

    No, these 2 plants are in different families. Beautyberry is Callicarpa, and is named for its colourful fruits appearing, depending on the species, during the summer or fall. Callicarpa is in the Verbenaceae family.

    Winterberry is the popular name of 2 species in the Ilex genus (common name Holly) -- Ilex verticillata (also called Black alder) and Ilex serrata, called Japanese winterberry.
