My daughter in Winnipeg, MB has calla lily bulbs stored in a cold storage room in her basement. She dug up these bulbs in the fall of 2001 after they had bloomed. The bulbs came from another Winnipeg garden where they have been blooming for the past ten years. The question is - will they bloom again next year when they are planted either inside in January/February or in the garden when conditions are optimum in Winnipeg? She is concerned that not having planted them this spring/summer that they may not be able to bloom next year. Thank you for any recommendations you may have. She would like to give the bulbs to her wedding guests at her September 14th wedding but only if there is a chance that they will actually bloom again. Sincerely, Pat

The bulbs will probably not bloom, since they were not planted this summer (2002). The bulbs are likely dessicated or soft. If they still seem firm you could try them inside but there may not be enough light. Because of this, I would not give them out at the wedding.
