Here is an uncommon tree found at a local arboretum. Can you identify it?

I can't make out the leaves, but it could be Koelreuteria paniculata. Does it get fruit that look like little red peppers in the fall?

Possibly a wingnut, photos are taken from too far away to even tell if we are being shown flowers or fruits, let alone what they look like up close.

Ron B correct again. Chinese Wingnut. When I first heard about this tree I was told that it was Pterocarya fraxinifolia but since then the director of this arboretum says that it is P. stenoptera.

Is there interest in a forum where the person starting a new thread knows the answer and challenges others to answer it (just like this thread)? It might be a bit of fun, and wouldn't have to be restricted to plant ID...

IMO that would be a challange, intrigue ... but I'm afraid there must be some thought about rules ... and maintenance ... but it might be interesting.

Most of the time Ron beats us to the punch but he isn't always right (just most of the time)
