Holly like shrub in Upper MI and Wisconsin

Discussion in 'Plants: Identification' started by Unregistered, Aug 24, 2004.

  1. There is a woody plant all over the area I live and noone knows what it is. The shrub always has small juicy red or orange berries in between the sets of leaves either with one berry or two together. The berries have two or three small seeds inside. The leaves are dark green, soft, somewhat fuzzy (more buff really_ and sort of tear drop shaped about 2-3" long. The leaves have a middle vein but the other veins are irregularly spaced and branched. The bush gets to be up to 10 or 12 feet tall in places but is usually on 3 or 4ft.

    Any ideas?
