Some of our apples (Laxton and Macs) have strange bulges or blisters. In one case, the skin of the bulge is a different texture and colour from a regular apple. The trees are on M9 stock and are young. What is causing these disfigurations and are the apples edible? How do we prevent this from happening again? I have pictures. I will send image as soon as I can figure out how to do it.
