A question about grape cuttings: Once I root green cuttings in a medium like pure perlite, can they survive dormancy in that medium, or do they need additional top-growth from soil to store enough nutrients? Could planting in enriched soil the following spring make up for less top-growth nutrition? Each cutting is 10+ cm long with a single leaf less than 6cm wide. I live in the southwest US, so our winters are pretty mild.

    Thanks for your help!
