I was wanting to experiment on pollinating impatiens. Although unecessary, i would like to store impatiens pollen for a few days and wait till the female shows up. The norm is that you take it frim a male flower and put it on a female on the same plant. I want to go for a different method. Is it possible to store imaptiens pollen in the fridgefor a few days to pollinate later? if so, how long?

    thanks

Can't speak for Impatiens sp. but aroid growers often store pollen for up to one year in the freezer. The generally accepted rule is it must be in a container that cannot be affected by moisture and must be fully restored to room temp before using. I use sealed test tubes with a moisture absorbing material inside. Most find it works very well.
