unknown diseased tree in vancouver

    I found these unknown diseased tree on the east side of Scotia Street, between E 7Ave & 6 Ave., Vancouver, beside an old Brewery Creek Factory under recontruction on Sept. 29, 2011. I copied one of these trees in Spring from Google street view.

    What kind of infection under its leaves?

    Rust disease of some sort, possibly a Gymnosporangium species.

    Callery Pears are invasive weed trees, so no loss if it dies.

    Over planted in this region, to be sure, but not seen making invasive thickets to the extent it does in the eastern US.
