The Maple trees in my back yard have developed gray spots which in some cases are covring 90% of the leaf surface. A file is attached of a scanned leaf. What can I do to control it. Pl. help.

It has been a bad year here as well. Not just for maples but for many trees including natives like beach plum (Prunus maritima) and wild cherries and even oaks, all of which have been afflicted by various leaf blights. The damage appears largely superficial, and I don't think the trees themselves are in serious danger, but it does cause one to worry whether some larger problem is at issue.

Thanks alex66. I can remove the gray or silevery stuff on the leaf by rubbing it. I am attaching a photo of back side of the leaf. Pl. let me know what type of fungus or mold it is and give me few names of the fungicides I can use. How serious this problem is? If I leave it untreated will it reappear next year?
