I just opened a brand new bag of potting soil that was stored in the garage over the past year. The soil inside is covered with white mold. I've never had this happen before - any advice on what I should do with it? I was going to use it to pot an indoor plant (begonia) and some vegetables in outdoor planters. Is it harmful? Can it be salvaged, or should I start over?

I would reccommend you remove the white mold and try salvaging the rest for the garden, and not in pots... albeit the mold has permeated the bagged soil...
