Christmas Cactus

    Hi all, I have a Christmas cactus that blooms every Christmas and is now blooming again at Easter! Is this usual? Though Easter cacti flowered at Easter and Christmas cactis at Christmas? Confused???

    There are a dozen or so varieties sold as chrismas cactus, and the blooming times for all of them vary greatly. Here, check out this Wiki page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christmas_cactus

    And no, it is not unusual. It seems to be normal for most of the healthy christmas cacti I've seen. Rumor has it that it is due to the hours of daylight and temps are similar now as in the fall when they start blooming the first time.
