So last year I made a trip to the Virginia and Dc Metro area. While in the area I decided to visit the home of George Washington, Mount Vernon. Washington was well known for his gardening experimentation and while in the gift shop I noticed an heirloom seed packet of Digitalis Purpurea (Foxglove) presumably grown from generations at the farm.

I sewed several seeds a little late in the season this year, but I am getting results. The results leave me a bit confused.

The leaves from the heirloom packet look very different than your standard foxglove leaf, which leads me to wonder what do I have? A hybrid? They have what look like the beginnings of a basal rosette. I will upload a standard foxglove leaf and then the plants I have produced.

Common Ragweed? Better pull before it spreads.
