Is this a lily?

    Hi,
    The attached flower is some kind of bulb. I don't know if it's a lily. Please help in ID. Thanks. Meg.

    Hippeastrum or related genus. Different family than lilies (Lilium).

    It could be Cyrtanthus elatus. I say this because of the orange flower color (Cyrtanthus flowers come in a wide range of colors) and the fact that the leaves look much smaller than those of most Hippeastrum hybrids.

    There are a few Hippeastrum species that have orange flowers, but they are exceedingly rare and not widely available.

    I think it probably is a Cyrtanthus, a name I would have suggested if I had remembered it.
