hope you perhaps can help me. The beautiful White Maple tree outside my house has started to create a sticky sap. I have checked for aphids and there appear to be none. I am absolutely not a gardener so i am just trying to figure this out over ther internet. The leaves have holes in them now and on the underside of some of the leaves there are small brown dots that do not appear to be alive but perhaps were initially pods of some sort. Anyway, the tree is about 35ft high and is a magnificent testament to nature. The problem of the sticky sap seems to have happened in the last two weeks. We had rapid heat chanes here in Virginia where it went from 65 to 85 degrees. If you have any thoughts please let me know.
    Yours Sincerely
    Louise Kingston
