I live in Illinois I want to graft a cutting from a bright red maple tree. I have some saplings in my backyard I want to graft the cuttings to. Somebody give me advice. With the freezeing weather just arround the corner am I better off to dig up a sapling and pot it and bring it in the house and put it in a south window. I have about 5 or 6 saplings I can play with plus I know where I can dig up more. Thanks GENE WELLSgwwg@sbcglobal.net

if you want to graft them i would wait untill the early spring right when the sap is starting to flow in the trees, you will get your best succes then.
