Budding Iris

    I'm not sure why this is happening, but I wanted to post a picture that I took a couple of days ago when I discover buds on one of my irises! Where were you before??? I doubt they will ever open though this late in the season:(

    Some bearded iris cultivars are re-blooming, producing a second flush later in summer or fall. This makes them much more valuable than those that flower only for a few weeks (or less) per year. Garden centers here stock some of these, it is possible to get them without seeking them out from iris specialists.

    This iris didn't even bloom this year, none of them did. Probably because I moved them all to another location last fall.
