These nuts were rampant in the San Bernardino mountains, east of Los Angeles, approximately here: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&sou...san+bernadino+mountains,&hnear=California&z=7 Here's a picture of the nut: http://sinkingsensation.com/nut.jpg It grew on a bush, and most of the nuts had fallen on the ground. We collected a bunch. We're wondering the name? And whether they're edible?
