    Hello, all.

Can you help us identify this houseplant? We have this beautiful plant that is weird as all get out. It has blooms at the end of the leaf and purple-ish "root" on the underside of the blossoms.

    Thank you for your help.

Producing an offset new plant. You can pull it off and plant it separately, the "root" is a real root.

It hasn't actually bloomed yet, either. When it does, it will send up a tall spike with tubular flowers on it, and if my memory serves me right, those will be pink. After it flowers, the mother plant will die, but by that point you'll most likely have a lot of the little pups that its produced on its leaves so you won't be without one.
