I have these tiny fly looking bugs in my soil. I kept my plants indoors during the winter and seen a few now and then. I have them outdoors now and my plants are doing great, but so are the "flies". What are they and how do I kill them without harming my plants?
They sound like fungus gnats - the easiest way I've found to be rid of them is to repot into uninfected soils and then ensure that I don't overwater or let the soils stay too damp. Others have had success with watering with soapy water, which doesn't hurt the plants but does smother the gnats.
