is cardoon invasive?

    Hello,
    I was wondering if the cardoon plant invasive in coastal B.C.?

    I believe it's slightly tender, so no, I don't think it is. I gre a beautiful Artichoke plant for two years, and it never got out of control.

    Apparently invasive in dry, warm climates, but not Delta, I'm sure.

    Yes, although able to grow large these are not enough at home here to go wild. The thoroughly prepared A. Jacobson book Wild Plants of Greater Seattle - Second Edition makes no mention of Cynara for that coverage area.

    I guess you can take the precaution too of removing the flower heads before they seed.
