Pruning (Course)
Saturday, February 14, 2009
9:30am to 12pm
Course Details Most gardeners find pruning one of the most difficult tasks. Learning how and when to prune your bushes, shrubs and trees will give you greater confidence and knowledge to keep your plants in good health.
Instructor Roy Jonsson has worked as an instructor for the North Shore Continuing Education Department for twenty-eight years, offering a wide variety of landscaping and gardening programs for both homeowners and commercial gardeners. He has also taught many courses for VanDusen Botanical Gardens, including sections of their popular Master Gardeners Program. Roy has conducted horticulture classes for the BCLNA and for a variety of public and private housing organizations. He has written a regular garden column “Sow it Grows” for the North Shore News for the past fifteen years, helping North Shore residents develop and maintain their gardens. In 2007 he published his new garden book “Garden Sense — Secrets of an Experienced Gardener”. When Roy is not writing or teaching he works as a horticultural and composting consultant, serving both commercial and residential clients. Since 2000 he has done five international assignments (Hungary, China, Philippines and Honduras) with the Canadian Executive Service Organization (CESO). This organization is financed primarily by CIDA and provides assistance to developing countries around the world.
