Polystichum kwakiutlii - the rarest fern? (Lecture)
Monday, February 20, 2006
12pm to 1pm
Lecture Details Polystichum kwakiutlii is only known from one type specimen in an herbarium. If this species is real, it may be one of Canada's rarest ferns. The history of the fern has an interesting human element involving a fugitive from American justice, confusion about the type locality and a hunt for the type specimen.
